When did you last boot a restore?
Most Proxmox estates we look at are backing up correctly and have not proven a restore in over a year. The health check runs ten specific checks against your existing setup and gives you one page back, whether or not you ever buy anything from us.

The ten checks
Each one is a specific, observable thing — not an opinion about your architecture.
- Backup job success rate over the last 30 days, and which jobs fail silently
- When a restore was last actually performed, as opposed to last assumed to work
- Datastore fill level and how long you have before jobs start failing
- Garbage collection lag, and whether GC is colliding with your backup window
- Verify job coverage — how much of the datastore has been re-read rather than trusted
- Whether client-side encryption is enabled, and who holds the key
- Whether the PBS configuration itself is backed up anywhere
- Whether an offsite copy genuinely exists, or lives on the same disks as the VMs
- Token scope: whether the backup credential can also delete the backups
- Retention policy versus what your auditors or insurers actually require

Before you book
What does it cost?
Nothing. It qualifies us as much as it qualifies you — an estate we should not be selling to is one we would rather identify in thirty minutes than in month three.
Do you need access to our systems?
No. It is a screen share, or exported job history if you prefer. We do not ask for credentials, we do not install an agent, and we do not need a connection into your network.
We already run PBS ourselves and it is fine. Is this useful?
Possibly not, and we will say so. The two findings that come up most often in self-run estates are that no restore has been performed in over a year, and that the offsite copy is on the same physical box as the primary. If neither applies to you, your setup is in better shape than most and we will tell you that instead of inventing a problem.
Will this turn into a sales call?
You will get the one-page summary either way. If the findings point at something we sell, we will say which and why; if they point at a fix you can do yourself in an afternoon, we will tell you that too. It is a diagnostic, and a diagnostic that always reaches the same diagnosis is worthless.
What if we are not on Proxmox yet?
If you are mid-migration from VMware, the health check is still useful — it is easier to design the backup layout before the VMs land than to retrofit it after. Say so when you book and we will shape the call around the migration instead.
